Je unazijua siku 16 za kupinga ukatili wa Kijinsia?

Siku 16 za kupinga ukatili wa Kijinsia ni kampeni  ya Kimataifa  inayoongozwa na Kituo cha Kimataifa cha wanawake katika uongozi tangu mwaka 1991. Chimbuko la 16 za kupinga unyanyasaji wa kijinsia na mauaji ya kinyama ya kina dada wa Mirabelle yaliyofanyika nchini Dominica mwaka 1960. Mwaka 1991 Umoja wa Mataifa (UN) ulichagua Novemba 25 iwe siku ya Kimataifa ya Kupinga Ukatili wa Kijinsia ambapo kilele chake huadhimishwa Desemba 10 ya kila mwaka.

Siku hizi 16 hutoa mwanga wa uelewa kwa jamii kwa siku nyingine muhimu kama Novemba 29 ambapo ni siku ya Kimataifa ya watetezi wa haki za Wanawake , Desemba 1,Siku ya Ukimwi Duniani, Desemba 6 siku ya mauaji ya kikatili ya Montreal 1989 (wanawake 14 waliuawa na mtu aliyekuwa anawachukia wanawake) na Desemba 10 siku ya Haki za Binadamu Duniani.

Lengo la maadhimisho haya ni kutoa fursa kwa wanawake, wanaume,Vijana wa kike na kiume na wanaharakati wengine kukuza uelewa wa umma juu ya mchango wa wanawake katika maendeleo na kutafakari matokeo ya harakati za ukombozi wa mwanamke Kimapinduzi sambamba na kutafakari mafanikio hayo kwa miaka 20 ya tangu kuanzishwa kwa harakati hizo nchini mwaka 1993 TGNP ilipoanza.

Tutakumbuka kuwa maadhimisho haya huanza Novemba 25, ambayo ni siku ya Kimataifa ya Kupinga Ukatili dhidi ya Wanawake hadi Desemba 10 ambayo ni Siku ya Haki za Binadamu Ulimwenguni.  Siku hizi 16, TGNP na mashirika mengine yanayotetea haki, usawa wa Kijinsia na ulinzi dhidi ya makundi yaliyoko pambezoni hasa wanawake  wanaadhimisha kwa kufanya shughuli mbalimbali za kijamii, ikiwepo kusikiliza visa mkasa, kutoa shuhuda hadharani, kushirikina na mamlaka za kiserikali na dola latika kuunganisha nguvu kutokomeza kabisa Uakatili wa Kijinsia
